Greeting from the East
Brethren,
Our summer recess from Lodge is drawing to a close and I hope all my Brethren, their families and all our friends had good summer with a chance to relax and have fun. Now is the time we must call the Craft from refreshment to labor and attend the Stated Meeting, September 6th at 7:30 pm. To get September off to a great start, we will have our regular Stated Meeting Dinner at the Siena Hotel Coffee Shop at 6:00 pm. I hope all of you can come and break bread with us. We always enjoy a good dinner and interesting conversation before the meeting. Come and join us and bring a guest. August 23,1 called a special meeting and we had the pleasure of conferring the Entered Apprentice Degree for Brother Mike Burnett. The summer vacation caused us a few problems but with the help of Lystra Pitts, Acting Worshipful Master; Fred Bigrigg, Acting Senior Warden; Mark Johnson, Junior Warden; Scott Fedinic, Acting Chaplain; and Jim Bennett, Junior Deacon. The visitors, Jerry Cardwell, Acting Senior Deacon; Charley Steiner, Acting Senior Steward and Mike Aurnague give a fine EA Lecture using Power Point that he had just completed. I want to thank all the Brothers for the help and an outstanding job of presenting the EA Degree for Brother Mike Burnett. The September Stated Meeting, we will have two special events, starting with Brother Dalton La Rue bringing DeMolay boys from Reno Chapter for a presentation about their organization.
Junior Grand Deacon Dave Baba will present a special education program for the Brethren.
The first half of this year, we have made good progress in getting new members and increasing our attendance at the Stated Meetings. These two actions remain the most important requirements for the successful step forward in our Lodge. Our numbers are slowly increasing with new Brothers coming in and we really appreciate your presence at the meetings. If you are unable to get to the Lodge for meetings, please call me at 775-626-6502 and I will make arrangements to have you picked up, brought to the meetings and returned home. I think we are off to a good start in getting members and I am happy to report that we have five Entered Apprentices working very hard on their First Degree Proficiencies and hope to give them the Second Degree in the near future. I have been informed that we will have another petition at the September meeting. We need to keep this trend going, so please make an effort to get a petition from a friend, an acquaintance or a family member.
Remember- Masonry is not a secret! Tell everyone about Masonry and what it will do for any man joining our organization. Having received some new literature explaining Masonry for potential candidates, I will be have these available at the September meeting.

A REMINDER this year Pyramid Lodge
has made a commitment of community service to support PM Rod Stahl and his efforts regarding the Child Identification Program. I want to thank the Brothers who have actively participated in this program. We have been the only Lodge that had Masons at the events to assist Brother Rod. As soon as Rod has the schedule for the rest of the year, I will advise all the Brethren so that we can continue to support this wonderful program.
I want to let you all know that I am planning the third Lodge dinner for all of you, your ladies and friends. As soon as I get the date and the place finalized, I will let everyone know.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in
September and continuing the good work
that has been done during the first part of
the year.
Fraternally,
Jim Stanley, Worshipful Master

A MASON'S PRAYER Architect Supreme, bend me to Thy will. Draw Thy plans on the trestle-board of my heart, and commit to me Thy Builder' wisdom
Shape Thou the structure of my life into a temple of character—a fortress of manhood—a stronghold of justice. Lead me in the paths, O Grand Master of the Universe, that my thoughts and deeds may bring honor to Thy cause. Teach me that charity which endureth all things, and temper my passion in Thy holy fire.
Circumscribe and keep me within Thy laws, and when it is for me to judge, let me cleave to the plumb-line of Thy divine righteous. Grant me fortitude to bear my sufferings by myself, and when my travels are ended take Thou this rough ashlar of mortality unto Thy kingdom of Eternal Light. Amen. So mote it be.—Anon.
